Peter Cohan over at The Second Derivative just posted a funny (yet true) article on Debilitating Demo Diseases.
Peter and I gave a webinar a while back covering tips for people giving demos via web conference. He knows his stuff in the demo arena! This article isn't specifically targeted at webinar demos, but everything in it is directly applicable. If you use screen sharing to show off your product or software application, you should read and obey.
Although the tone is firmly tongue in cheek, you should be able to recognize the symptoms of the various demo diseases that Peter lists. They all contribute to what he labels "Stunningly Awful Demos." ... I've had to sit through too many of those. Let's all work together to stamp out this dreaded affliction.
